Dates: July 10th – 14th, 2011
Cost: $395 per wrestler; Other camp participants discounted to $195 per wrestler
Ages: 2nd – 6th Grades
This camp is designed for the beginner to novice wrestlers who have varying degrees of skill, experience, and attention span needing to keep their fundamental skills sharpened in the summer time. It will be a fun atmosphere that promotes learning a variety of wrestling information including short motivational story times from guest speakers. Work Hard and Have Fun on Your Way to #1, and the kids do just that. They learn the importance of hard work and aggressiveness while having fun and striving to be winners in all aspects of their lives.
Our staff will focus on high percentage scoring techniques, methods for scoring from neutral, top, & bottom positions. Technique sessions will emphasize breaking moves down and drilling methods that make the moves relatively easy to learn. An enhanced sense of self-confidence, self-discipline and self-motivation will hopefully be an added end result as your wrestler prepares for the next season.
All of the techniques taught will be related and will be drilled in a manner that the wrestlers will actually be able to perform all of the techniques in our end of the camp drilling “test”. Camp notes will be sent home with each wrestler to practice the methods taught at our camp.
Along with the technique sessions, we will also integrate mental conditioning exercises & motivational speeches at our nightly bonfires all designed to give you a competitive edge against your opponent.
During RECREATION-time campers can sign up for the following activities: our outdoor swimming pool, 300ft Slip-n-Slide, fishing in the pond, canoeing/paddle boats, ping pong, billiards, and evening movies or bonfires.
